I am still using DAT having a large commitment to the format, both audio DAT
and digital for backup DAT.
My experiences with the tape brands you are asking about has been good and I
have not had a bad tape other than perhaps two that were damaged by a defective
machine while under test, so I didn't lose anything in the incident.
I always wind end-to-end and fully re-wind a tape before using it, preferably
on a machine that is reserved for that purpose.
