The head of the ARSC cylinder committee is Bill Klinger, and he can give
you the best advice. If the cylinders are larger than ordinary
cylinders they could be Concert size, Pathe Inter/Salon size, Pathe
dubbing masters, or the mythical Columbia Graphophone Grand cylinders.
There is an expert in repairing broken wax cylinders using dental
methods who Bill can get you in contact with, who is a WIZARD in
repairing hopelessly broken cylinders. He has done several ARSC
presentations, and last year showed us how he repaired the only known
huge Columbia Graphophone Grand cylinder. If your client has these, then
this would be a MAJOR and IMPORTANT find!!

Dear list,
I have been asked by a friend of a friend about the possibility of
digitalizing cylinders, some of them broken. I don't know who this
person is, he is extremely secretive; all I have been told is that the
cylinders are from the 1890s, are "bigger than ordinary cylinders", are
unique, and "sensational" in its content, whatever that could mean. I
have no idea of how much broken they are or how many items there are in
all.
Where can I find the best expertise for this? Obviously it's a distance
from Norway to US of A, and maybe I should look for a solution closer to
home, but having seen a few presentations at ARSC conventions the last
years I feel confident that I will find what we are looking for in the
ARSC community.
All the best,
