Ah, but since you cannot live long enough to listen to everything, how can you know what you would not discover?

Even if I lived that long, I don't want to hear them all. I'm a collector, not an accumulator. I've spend my life so far discovering and honing my tastes. I do keep discovering music I didn't know about that I like, in fact ARSC is a tremendous resource for this. But, I also am very clear that there are many styles and artists that I do not like, and my finite time I can spend listening to music will be spent with what I enjoy. I do not crave "kale" (bitter, harsh, suddenly trendy roughage) in my music diet.
