What he said, (I too use the Disc Doctors brushes & fluids).
I have had the pleasure of using both the Keith Monks and the
Lorri-Craft units. They both work work very well & they are both
expensive. However, being the "Do it yourselfer" that I am, I have
wandered off in my own direction. I like the effectiveness of a vacuum
system so I have settled on using a vacuum brush from www.canfab3d.com
(which uses your wet-or-dry shop vac) and an old junk turntable
purchased from a thrift store. You can get a RCM from canfab for about
140 bucks delivered, and I have one, but I happen to prefer the wand
attached to my shop vac method. No matter what method you choose and
what chemicals you decide upon, there will be a learning curve involved.
Since you have a few hundred discs to clean and digitize, you will need
to establish a cleaning method that fits into the workflow that you will
need to set up. I plan to write an article that will be added to my
website on this very subject, so stay tuned.
Cheers!
