I did some experimenting a while back. A lot of messages in digest form come through garbled in Apple Mail - is that what you’re using? I did find that some mail programs, I now don’t remember which ones, could read them. As I recall, the problem was that the messages get sent in multiple formats and Mail picks the wrong one to read.
My solution was to nix the digest and go to individual messages. On the whole, I’m not sorry — it’s easier to follow discussion threads that way.
