Bothers me in any industry! In America, they busted up the phone
telco monopoly, and now they have eaten each other up to be back to
only four megaconglomerates with practically no regulation. Same
thing happening in the record insudtry, though they are finding it
doesn't help them in their decline...
But my flashbacks are of a different nature As a live sound engineer,
venues have progressed (?) from radio studios major park shows and
ballrooms to rock clubs to coffeehouses and now to yoga studios.
One thing that bothers me about Sony is how they erase the history
they purchase - there are a dozen or so "Sony Studios" but what
happened to the original name and heritage?
Look st www.sonymusic.com and se if you can find the original names.
Or the interview at <http://mixonline.com/mag/
audio_sony_music_studios/> and see if they acknowlege even the
original name sof the studio they bought up? What was it called
before they purchased it?

Putting the archives issue aside for a minute, does anyone else find
it disturbing that Sony-BMG may swallow EMI.and create even an more

Anybody else having flashbacks to the 1980s,when magazines like
MAXINMUMROCKANDROLL ran columns warning about a single major record
label?
