Transducers, particularly speakers, which includes headphone drivers, are the highest distortion devices in the recording/reproduction chain, by orders of magnitude. So, that’s where you should spend the majority of your audio dollars. They tend to mask what’s going on earlier in the chain.
I went looking yesterday afternoon for bargain prices on OPPO. Instead what I found was the lower end models sold out, not to be restocked, I fear. I guess Gary was not t
