A word of caution. I used Firedrive for a few years. Previously they
were PutLocker. They offered a free package, and were fast. Uploads
were also re-startable if the connection hic-cupped. Many paid for
pro. storage with a credit card.
Suddenly a few years' ago all went belly up. One day no-one could
access their files. Despite angst on various forums the situation was
dire. Folks lost thousands (millions?) of files. No-one answered or
responded to emails or inquiries on Face Book etc. Credit cards
continued to be debited.
They were apparently based in various countries including the UK. But
all were accommodation addresses. They were actually based in
Singapore.
Rumours had it that they were closed down by the authorities due to
offering pirated films and porn. Singapore is a police state after
all.
So before trusting a cloud site I would want to know who is running
it, where it is based, what other domains they own, and what kind of
media they host. Oh - and uploads must be re-startable.
CJB.
