Now that we've reached agreement on whether you can leave subject
fields in other languages on some BIBCO records, may I ask a favor?
If your system gives you the capability of inserting fields, would
those of you adding LCSH insert them on top of the 6XX block of
fields instead of adding them at the bottom? Much of the copy I've
seen puts the LCSH after the non-LCSH.
While I agree that the words in non-LCSH can provide good additional
keyword access, it would be nice if they were in a secondary
position. (Yes, I realize field order is hardly a life-threatening
issue but we do try to make it easier on our copy catalogers to
peruse the copy for required stuff like LCSH if appropriate and a
call number.)
