Kelley, once again: great questions!
I'll give my vision of flexibility, which may not be the BIBFRAME one: I
suspect that library cataloging systems where massive shared cataloging
takes place will have the same kind of pre-set standards as we have
today: minimal cataloging, full cataloging, etc. Outside of those
cataloging environments, though, library systems will be able to
exercise greater flexibility, as desired by the library (and as
permitted by the library system). So just as today some libraries
include cover art, reviews, etc., that should be easier to do in the
future. In addition, it should be easier for library systems to combine
data from different sources, such as adding data from local archives and
museums, or merging in course syllabi, including article citations. And,
of course, none of that "messes with" the controlled cataloging
environment which is so vital to sharing and efficiency for libraries.

> The fact you're separating these out as 2 separate "things" (wether you call it Work or Expression) is a critical step in supporting such disambiguation. MARC / AACR* conflates this and over time, various conventions have been introduced to try and minimize this ambiguity but, as you've pointed in the case of moving pictures, audio, etc. this is still a huge issue.
