This summer I posted a query to several electronic lists soliciting examples
of EAD encoding of description of audiovisual materials. To aid in
continued discussion of approaches to EAD encoding of the description of AV
materials, I've created a Google Group called "EAD for AV."
So far, many of the respondents to my initial query have joined the group,
and the document I compiled from their responses has been posted there. The
group is publicly accessible, so anyone can read posts and files, but you
have to be a member to post anything.
I doubt the group will generate heavy traffic, but considering the general
lack of published guidance for this sub-sub-subset of descriptive practices,
and considering that it cuts across multiple professional communities, a
specialized forum seemed potentially helpful. I hope folks will consider
using it to share questions and ideas.
