It is with sadness we note the death of James P. Riley, the director of
the Federal and Library Information Center Committee (FLICC) from 1974
to 1989. His obituary appeared in the Washington Post Metro Section on
February 18, page B6, or
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A30469-2002Feb18.html.
Jim Riley was loved and admired by many, and we owe him a large debt of
gratitude as the first director of the FEDLINK program.
The federal group in the American Library Association, Federal and
Armed Forces Librarians Round Table (FAFLRT), is gathering reminiscences
about Mr. Riley for an upcoming issue of their newsletter. Please
contact Lynn McDonald at FLICC/FEDLINK if you can contribute (see
below). FLICC will also publish a tribute in an upcoming newsletter.
We honor his memory, and wish his family comfort and peace, with
deepest sympathy. - - Lynn McDonald, FLICC/FEDLINK, [log in to unmask] or
