Reminder about a free webinar coming up in about two hours:
Putting the T in STEAM: Technology Programs for Libraries
Training will be at 0900 EST (US) on 23 September and can be accessed with
this link: https://sfmwr.acms.com/tinsteam
Do you have MakerSpace funds but don't know what to buy? Are you looking to
incorporate more technology into library programming? Check out this free
webinar hosted by the Army MWR Library program where guest speakers will
share how to add more "T" - technology - to the library.
Erin Twamley, author and educator, has been consulting with libraries to
show that even if one doesn't have a science or technology background, it's
still possible to bring great and easy STEM activities to the library.
Mike Colarusso, director of the Ansbach Library, will present Cubelets Robot
Blocks: Exploring robotics, coding, and more with Tactile Coding that's fun
for all ages, as well as Keva Planks: Introducing low tech STEAM principles
through hands-on learning.
Kendra Harris, librarian at NSF Indian Head General Library, will help you
bring some nerdy fun to the library by using 3D pens to make some 1960s
styles nerd glasses.
The session will be recorded and a link to the recording will be sent out
automatically several days later. Some government networks block the webinar
software so the training may need to be accessed on a commercial network.
