Does your library contain cellulose acetate microfilm? If so, you will be interested in the reports and guidelines issued by the International Round-Tables on Preservation Microfilm, and posted on the web by the British Library.
Since 2002, the British Library and the Library of Congress have been taking a lead on addressing the difficulties associated with cellulose acetate microfilm collections. Together with other leading institutions, four international round-tables on preservation microfilm have been convened, to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience. The most recent round-table was held this month at Princeton University. See the hyperlinks below to view the guidelines and other reports.
Please note that FEDLINK offers film duplication by qualified vendors through the Preservation Services basic ordering agreement. Contact Anne Harrison at FEDLINK on 202-707-4834 or [log in to unmask] for more information.
