Rachel Trent is working on the next version of the Recommended Format Statement (https://www.loc.gov/preservation/resources/rfs/) in regards to geospatial formats and she wants to pull together Library experts in the geospatial domain to advise and comment.
We're going to discuss the latest RFS draft at the January 8th GHE meeting with Kate Murray and Ted Westervelt from the formats team.
The new draft version is at: http://www.loc.gov:8081/preservation/resources/rfs/geo-carto-rev.html
Check it out prior to the meeting if you can!
Spread the word about this discussion on the 8th to any Library staff who might be interested.
The weekly GHE meeting is 10-11a.m. Wednesdays in LM630.
