CURRENT SITUATION:
ISO 639 encoding: tut = Altaic (other). (Cf. the item tt/tat = Tatar, which
is a distinctly different language.)
Linguasphere: 44-AAB-ac = "Crimean"-Tatar
Ethnologue: CRH = Crimean Turkish (with Crimean Tatar as an alternate name).
Some 190.000 speakers in Uzbekistan and in a number of other countries.
COMMENTS:
Should be included. As to name, "Crimean Tatar" seems to be somewhat more
common than "Crimean Turkish", but both names should probably be included.
Both the proposed identifier (crm) and the Ethnologue identifier (crh) are
available. I suggest that we choose "crh" to harmonize with Ethnologue.
Best regards,
Håvard Hjulstad
