PS: I also agree with Michael that we should ask for its immediate
rescinding and deprecation of CS with a different meaning.
Nothing like this major type of change was brought up at the recent
meeting of ISO/TC46/WG2 (Country codes) only a few weeks before.
Major changes of principle (reuse of codes) should NOT just be
slipped in by a registration authority, without discussion by the
relevant WG, SC or TC, and with other standards bodies and committees
that are likely to be affected by it.
It would also be useful to contact the chair of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22,
and the convenor of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG20, both of which meet
shortly, and also your relevant national commttees of those and other
ISO/IEC JTC1 bodies.
I imagine that many ISO and ISO/IEC JTC1 committees will be very
angry about this.
