It's just that both of these are valid:
<modsCollection xmlns="http://www.loc.gov/mods/v3">
<mods>
...
</mods>
</modsCollection>
<mods xmlns="http://www.loc.gov/mods/v3">
...
</mods>
As a consequence, I cannot know what the root is if I'm searching, for
example, across multiple MODS files. In some cases its mods, and in
other modsCollection, and which it is can be completely arbitrary.
