NLS has learned that network librarians were recently sent unauthorized 
promotional material for HumanWare's Victor Reader Stream. The Library of 
Congress does not endorse any third-party player and specifically urges 
that you not encourage patrons to use any particular third-party 
sound-reproduction machine.

NLS digital talking-book machines are currently being distributed and will 
be available to patrons as soon as possible. Should you have a patron who 
expresses an urgent need for a digital player, please contact Alice Baker
