There is another effect on CONSER, however, besides the effect on those
serials that are in series. The other effect is that LC serials
catalogers will no longer create "collected set" records (i.e., catalog
some series as serials if they were not to be analyzed).
I do not know what percentage of the CONSER database is represented
by LC serial records for series, nor whether those series are better
off being cataloged as monographs without controlled series access. I
just wanted to indicate that this is also a change related to serials
cataloging and the CONSER database.
