COPYRIGHT OFFICE EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR INITIAL NOTICE OF
DIGITAL TRANSMISSION (64 FR 66391)
The Copyright Office is extending the date by which a
noninteractive, nonsubscription service currently making
digital transmissions of sound recordings must file an
initial notice of digital transmission with the Copyright
Office. The new due date is Dec. 1, 1999. For more

January 18, 2000: Beginning of 45-day precontroversy
discovery period for CARP proceeding on rates and terms for
digital transmissions of sound recordings and ephemeral

February 10, 2000: Due date for written comments on
exemption to prohibition on circumvention of copyright
protection systems for access control technologies

March 13, 2000: Due date for reply comments on exemption to
prohibition on circumvention of copyright protection systems
for access control technologies (64 FR 66139)
