Public service announcement from the Library of Congress:
With the initial implementation of the LC ILS now complete, the
Library is proceeding to phase out its legacy systems, including the
Multiple Use MARC System (MUMS). No new information has been added to
MUMS since staff began working in the LC ILS on August 16, 1999.
MUMS will remain available for read-only access until 9:30 p.m. EST
on Tuesday, January 11.
At the same time, SCORPIO access to the LC catalog files in MUMS
(LOCB for Books, LOCM for Maps, etc.) will end. However, the SCORPIO
system will remain operational: the federal legislation files (e.g.
CG99, C105 etc.) will continue to be available via SCORPIO until June
5, 2000. Copyright and NLS/BPH files will also remain in SCORPIO
until replacement systems are in place.
