I tried to reply to this thread earlier, but had address problems. Good
thing, too, because more replies came along in the interim, and clarified
matters in my head.
I am an independent contributor of name and name-title headings in the
NACO Music Project funnel. I also serve as a reviewer for other NMP
participants, and have my own "reviewer" in Project Coordinator Ralph
Papakhian, who fields my questions. I agree with the poster who cited the
funnel projects as a possible model in that our funnel, at least,
predicates participation at both an institutional and an individual level.
The institutional aspect is largely for administrative and technological
purposes, and to ensure adequate support for the individual. The key is
accountability, during and beyond the training process. If that factor
can be integrated into a means of facilitating PCC participation for the
"orphans" or from independent contractors, great. That participation
should be at a level appropriate to the person's expertise, experience,
and resources, with strongest emphasis on the first two.
I also agree with the writer who urged people leaving PCC institutions for
non-PCC ones to get the new institution involved at an appropriate level.
