Although I'm all for retaining the knowledge of as many catalogers as
possible, I wonder if "independent" pcc members is the answer.  Maybe we
should be planning to recruit their new institutions to BECOME PCC members.
PCC contributions really DO require institutional support.  We can make a
solid case for how important it is and who better to spread the "gospel"
than the newly appointed cataloger?
