CT-1 Machine



Network libraries are reminded that a supply of combination
machines (CT-1s) is available.  Machine-lending agencies are
encouraged to offer CT-1 machines to patrons who may benefit
from a more sophisticated machine.

While NLS policy has always limited patrons to one machine
per format, input from the network suggests that some
patrons have a legitimate need for a second machine.  Given
the inventory of CT-1s, NLS is modifying its policy
to enable a patrons to have both a standard cassette machine
and a combination machine; or a talking book machine and a
combination machine; or a standard cassette machine, a
talking book machine, and a combination machine.

This policy change relates only to the combination machine,
and is applicable only as long as the inventory of CT-1
machines lasts.
