One of my favorites was Alexander The Bait, a short story by William Tenn.

A future Superman sent minion back in time to begin his super education
early thus bringing his great mental and psychic powers up strong in
childhood. The results were not good. It can be found in "The Omnbus of
Science Fiction", Edited by Groff Conklin. Crown Publishers 1952.
