We wanted to remind you of the satellite broadcast of the OCLC Users Council discussion on Tuesday at 11 am, hosted for us in the DC area by the NSF library conveniently near the Ballston Metro station. There is lots of room left, so even if you haven't yet registered for this free event, we urge you to come. Outside the DC area, there are many host sites at regional libraries.
We are especially interested in two aspects of this two-hour broadcast. Clifford Lynch, Executive Director, Coalition for Networked Information, will discuss "Libraries and Worldwide Access to Information." Many people always find Cliff Lynch interesting. Also, Bill Crowe, currently the Chair of the OCLC Board of Trustees, will discuss the newly-begun examination of the governance structure for OCLC. We are all stakeholders in this important discussion, and hope federal librarians will take an interest, to help shape the outcome to everyone's benefit. "Library Success in the New World"
Join OCLC worldwide library community for its first live satellite broadcast of a Users Council meeting. Elected from regional networks and service centers around the world, these 60 delegates represent you and your institutions in the affairs of OCLC. Take this opportunity to hear and ask questions of library and OCLC leaders as they discuss *Library Success in the New World.*
Clifford Lynch, Executive Director of the Coalition for Networked Information, is the keynote speaker for this unique virtual meeting. The agenda includes presentations by Betsy Wilson, President of the OCLC Users Council, Jay Jordan, President and CEO of OCLC, Phyllis Spies, OCLC Vice President, Worldwide Library Services, and William Crowe, Chair of the OCLC Board of Trustees. Led by Nancy Eaton, Chair of the Strategic Directions and OCLC Governance Advisory Council, a panel of well-known librarians will discuss the Users Council's governance study currently under way.

The closest Metro stop is the Ballston-Marymount University station on the Orange Line.
