Hi,
In case anyone is interested, the Utah State Archives just completed our EAD/XML conversion project. We had 614 legacy finding aids for series inventories and 125 agency histories. It took us about three months and wasn't nearly as ugly a process as I had anticipated. We didn't even have to hire a techno-guru. We did learn things along the way, though, and I've written up a description of the methodology we used in case anyone on the list is at the same place we were back in April when we knew nothing and were first being trained. It is at http://www.archives.state.ut.us/referenc/ead.htm. If you want to see any of our finding aids, they are at http://www.archives.state.ut.us/inventories-ac.htm.
If anyone knows of some better methods that would work for us, especially regarding XSL formatting objects, please let me know.
Thanks!
