Do you know that the EAD list has sent the ILOVEYOU virus to everyone.
Do not open or read the attached file!
Destroy it and the e-mail as soon as possible if your anti-virus software
has not already disposed of it
Use Windows Explorer / Tools / Search for a document
Enter LOV*.* and specify each disk drive in turn for a complete search of it
If you find any LOVE-LETTER... delete it!
Be sure not to double-click on it!
Some systems (W95/W98) will accept a single click on a file to run it.
So, to be more prudent, just tab to the window enclosing the list of files
(if there are any file) and use the arrow keys to highlight the suspected
file and press the delete key (do not press the ENTER key at any time,
while in the file list window).
If you have had the bad luck of opening this attachment, you must
decontaminate your computer. Get an anti-virus software (some are even
free but none the less worthy) and read the documentation carefully.
Visit
http://www.cai.com/virusinfo/virusalert.htm#love_letter_variants
for more information on this particular virus and how to get rid if it.
If in doubt, consult your local IT expert...
If you compose any genuine love letter, don't call it by that name!
