Hello:
We have a repository guide created using the eadgrp dtd, which contains
a whole series of collection descriptions each of which is a separate
ead file (this might not be exactly what you mean, as it arises from the
UK not having a general practice of creating collection descriptions in
MARC).
It is fairly flexible, and allows you to extract the individual ead
files for other purposes. The main problem encountered was the lack of
elements in eadgrp for inserting narrative etc about the groups of ead
files (ie why they were grouped thus). eadgrp allows for one layer of
subdivision before you reach the ead files - the <archdescgrp> element
which contains a <did> and a <dscgrp> - this contains a series of ead
files.
