>15! Happy Holidays!
Hi Leni -
I'm excited for the "unveiling!" I know it has been a labor of love! I'm
doing a couple of American Memory Workshops after the holiday vacation, so
I'll practice with your page when I'm being grandma in DC for vacation. Do
you have a holiday vacation? Do you stay in town?
I got a note from Shelly Nielsen (who had gotten my name from you :-)
about presenting an AM session at the SchoolTech Expo in NYC in March. I
was delighted to be asked and said yes! The funny thing was that I had a
conference brochure on my desk to turn in to attend the Classroom Connect
Conference (a similar conference being held a couple of weeks earlier in
March) in NYC. I've wanted to get to NY for a couple of reasons - one, my
niece lives there and the second, I've become friends with the Time For
Kids president and she is going to give me a grand tour of the place when
I get to NY. Anyway, now I have a good reason to do all of the above.
Thanks for recommending me. I know you'll have lots of tips to share with
me before I do the presentation - like how do you show all of AM wonders
in one hour!!!
I'm looking forward to time with the family in DC. We'll probably stay
through the 31st and drive home on New Year's Day. I've had a chest and
sinus cold for almost two months and after two rounds of antibiotics I
wish I were going someplace a bit warmer. We're heading to the Grand
Cayman Islands for our April break and I'm really looking forward to that.
I've never been there - or anywhere close!
I've attached a photo of my little Library of Congress winter display in
the hall outside of the library - "A Peek Into Our Snowy Past!" I started
looking for snow scenes and found some wonderful photos. Everyone is so
busy now here at school, but I'm hoping to use the photos with some
teachers after vacation. We had a very blowy and snowy day yesterday, but
all is calm now!
Take care. I'm glad you're back online again. I love your cheery
messages! You are all a special group of people!
