are you sure that XT is in your system path?
check with "path set more" and if the directory to XT is not there add it with
if XT is in c:\ead\xt\
and your xml and xsl files are in c:\eadfiles\xml
xt c:\eadfiles\xml\eadfile.xml c:\eadfiles\xml\xsltfile.xsl
