Index term: NLS program during the ALA midwinter conference
NLS will present a program, NLS and the Digital Future, to
interested individuals attending the ALA midwinter
conference in Washington, DC.
The program will consist of a briefing by NLS staff about
progress in moving from analog to digital recordings of
books and magazines. It will also discuss development of a
digital player and how these changes may affect the network
of cooperating libraries and the eligible blind and
physically handicapped residents of the United States who
use the NLS service.
The program will be presented at NLS (1291 Taylor Street NW)
on January 12, 2001, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a
tour of the facility from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to
and from the NLS facility. Directions to NLS will be
provided when a reservation is made to attend the program.
Individuals interested in attending should notify the NLS
contact person below by __close of business on January 3,
2001.__ Seating is limited, so reserve early.
