USAID Library Open House and International Development Information Resources Fair January 16, 2001, 9:00 - Noon
Does your library get questions on economic assistance? Civil society? Election systems? Sustainable development? This is your opportunity to learn about the information resources of a dozen libraries and organizations that focus on the topics of international development. Mark your calendar and plan to attend.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Library staff invite you to an open house on Tuesday, January 16th from 9 am - 12 noon. The USAID Library's collection focuses on international development and economic assistance. Find more about the USAID Library at http://library.info.usaid.gov.
This event is specially organized for librarians who will be attending the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Conference and for librarians in the DC Metropolitan Area. Please share this invitation with your colleagues.
The open house will include an International Development Information Resources Fair where in one visit you will learn about the information resources of some of the major libraries in international development. USAID Library staff will provide tours and demonstrations, the USAID Development Experience Clearinghouse staff will show you how to access USAID documents and librarians from other organizations will display publications, demonstrate their online resources and discuss their services.
In addition to the USAID Library and Development Experience Clearinghouse, participants in the Resources Fair will include:
International Center for Research on Women,
International Foundation for Election Systems,
Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs,
National Endowment for Democracy,
Peace Corps,
UNEP-Infoterra/USA,
