A few weeks ago someone lamented about the lack of resources or plans for
smaller libraries and institutions that want to participate in digital
library projects, particularly in cooperation with other small
institutions, where the lack of staff is a major obstacle.
In the current issue of the online journal "Library Philosophy and
Practice" (vol. 3, no. 2, Spring 2001) there is an article about such a
project:
Elaine Peterson, "Building a Digital Library: With Comments on Cooperative
Grant Projects and the Goals of a Digital
Library."

I've noticed that the rage toward "digital libraries" has led to quite a
number of institutions providing documentation regarding how such
"libraries" are organized, developed and implemented. I find that a very
helpful way of assisting others who might consider and invest in such
projects.
