Title: Assistant Coordinator, Library Programs
Salary Range: M27 - ($46,616.84 - $65,271.24)
Location: Library for the Blind and Handicapped
Description:
Under the supervision of the Library Director, the Assistant
Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of the public
service programs of the Library for the Blind and
Handicapped, which includes services to adults, children,
and young adults; outreach programs for the Hispanic
community and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community; and
their radio reading service. Coordinates the Public
Education Plan to inform the public about the Library and
its services. The Library for the Blind and Handicapped
operates under the general guidance of the National Library
Service of the Library of Congress to serve the people of
New Jersey who are unable to make use of traditional public
library services. The library serves over 12,000 New Jersey
residents with a staff of 28 including four professional
librarians.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in any field supplemented by
a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited
graduate program.
Experience: Four years of experience as a professional
librarian including at least two years of library program
management responsibility in an area of library work
appropriate to the duties of this position. Experience
working in an NLS network library will be given strong
consideration. Ability to communicate in American Sign
Language an asset.
