I'm sorry to have to have to criticize the listowners of the EAD list
again, but after receiving spam from the list, and as a listowner of a

Firstly, ANYONE on the Internet can see who is subscribed to the EAD list
without being a subscriber. I feel this is unacceptable, because this is
how spammers obtain addresses.
The listowners should add the following line to the list header:
This will restrict the REVIEW command to just subscribers. Only
subscribers will be able to see who is subscribed to the list. Of course,
that means anyone can subscribe to the list, get the list of subscribers,

strict measures, they can switch the "Private" option to "Owners" - in

Next, mail sent to the EAD list should be allowed only from subscribers.
To enable this, put the following in the list header:
As a listowner of 4 e-mail lists (one of them with over 2,500 people), I
understand that they are occasionally difficult to manage. It is for that
reason that listowners should avail themselves of the tools that are
available, especially when they will protect the subscribers from
intrusions of privacy or unwanted e-mail.
