You're probably thinking of Podkayne Of Mars. Or possibly his short
"Searchlight" about a blind girl who survives a crashlanding on the moon and
is rescued by overlaying the musical notes from a piano over the surface of
the moon, a sort of tonal direction finding. And then there is "The Menace
from Earth" A young girl feels some competition from a new girl in town. The
young girl can fly around the lunar atrium with mechanical wings which
inspired the beautiful cover art by Michael Whelan (see
