The Libraries at Penn State are moving onto the Windows 2000 NT
platform. I found out the hard way today that Author/Editor 3.5 is not
compatible with Windows 2000 NT; it will not load from the CD-ROM, and the
latest company that owns it has "retired" the software at version
3.5. Before I allow the technology staff to replace my computer and
platform with Windows 2000 NT, I need to find out from the EAD community if
anyone else is running Windows 2000 NT and what software they are using to
create EAD finding aids that is compatible with the platform. Also, how
are you displaying the finding aids, in XML or converting to
HTML? Currently, I use an older version of James Clark's XP to convert
SGML to XML to HTML; when loaded on the Windows 2000 NT, it didn't work
either (probably because the Java script links were not reestablished and
the techies who did the work don't know Java).
