I have not followed this discussion closely (I may have missed
some comments) but I agree with Adam that this is putting another
reporting responsibility onto the catalogers and the liaisons and
another job on the people at LC.
When I encounter in-process records, I frequently find that there is
a problem of some kind and research is needed. Unless the item is
needed here very quickly, I lean toward thinking that someone at
LC is already working on the problem and that my efforts may be
redundant. Perhaps that is not in the PCC "quicker" mode, but it
does consider the efficiency of not duplicating efforts.
