I have had communication with this person about Walloon. Information we
have here is that it is a dialect of French. I see that it is not included
at all in the Ethnologue (or at least I haven't found it).
I would like to start a discussion about the status of this language. I
will forward additional messages with the person about Walloon.

Subject: Request to add a language code for Walloon language
Dear sir,
I wrote you to know what is necessary to have a new language added
to the ISO 639 language code lists.
That language is Walloon language (Wallon in French, Walon in Walloon);
a language of the northern group of latin languages, that is from
the same Family as French, Picard, Normand, Poitevin-Saintegeonais,...
There is a presentation of the language (in English, Walloon, French and
Dutch) at the URL: http://www.wallonie.com/wallang/, with informations on
its history, grammar, linguistic and current use status.
A few years ago, a group of people started translating software into Walloon
on the GNU/Linux operating system; as it requires a language code in order
for the O.S. to pick the right translations, at the time 'wa' had been choosen
as a two letter code; therefore it would be nice if it could be possible
to keep that for the two letter code.
Thank you very much.
