Friends:
In working with the Beta version of the METS schema and the draft LC
extensions, we have several questions. Help from Morgan, et. al. would be
most appreciated.
1. Our first question involves the element digiprovMD and the proposed LC
process extension.
The digiprovMD element seems to reference information that would be kept
in the process extension. Is this still the case or is there a newer
extension that it references? If we could have more information about the
element digiprovMD, its purpose and its relationship to the extensions,
that would help us greatly.
2. We'd also appreciate more information about the allfiles extension and
its relationship to the other files/extensions? When the extension talks
about "file" in MODIFY_DATE, SIZE, etc, does "file" refer to the original
digital object or to the METS record? We are unclear as to the purpose
of the allfiles extension and where in the METS schema, if anywhere, does
the reference to the allfiles extension go?
3. Do you have any draft documentation, and/or examples that illustrate how
the main schema refs out to the METS extensions?
Thanks for your help.
