BIBCO and CONSER catalogers:
At the Operations meeting in May we agreed that we should use the PCC
Web site as a clearinghouse for records sets for titles in
aggregations. It would seem that the best way to make this happen
would be to have several of you work together to come up with an
initial list that could be added to over time. The list would include
titles in large aggregations available as a result of the PCC task
force's efforts (e.g., EBSCO, ProQuest), record sets available from
OCLC, and smaller sets that have been cataloged and are available on
OCLC or RLIN. We would want to include the name of the aggregation,
perhaps an indication of the size, and the means by which the records
We would like to have volunteers from CONSER and BIBCO to cover sets
with monographs and serial titles. Three people might be a good
number. The basic charge would be as follows:
1. Identify aggregations of all sizes for which
records are available
2. Recommend a convenient format for which the information can be
presented on the PCC Web site.
3. Recommend a means for keeping the site up-to-date.
