Hi Folks,
I've been lurking for a while, soaking up the information. I hope you
can help me with a problem that's come up lately.
We are a small group (3) working at the University of California, Santa
Cruz working on the Online Archive of California finding aids for our
institution. We have no legacy finding aids and so it takes a while for us
to complete a finding aid to encode. We offered to help other small
institutions with their encoding to get some additional practice. Someone
took us up on the offer and we have 5 finding aids to encode now, but no
idea of what we should charge. There are approx. 100 pages of finding
aid. Has anyone outsourced encoding? Any idea of the costs? Any idea of
what companies do this type of work? Any names?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers,
Maureen Carey
