The "Code Red" worm continues to be a problem. Heavy volumes of
network traffic can saturate routers and make them inoperable,
temporarily losing outside network connectivity. Many government
agencies have found it necessary to block public access to some ports
in order to deflect such attacks. This created difficulties during
the FLICC discussion series program on Web-based Finding Aids held
earlier this week. It may also explain why you may have trouble
connecting to some sites.
