FLICC Meeting Announcement MA2001-27
The Government Marketplace: Licensing and negotiating in the
Electronic World
Friday, October 12, 2001
Federal agencies disseminate their information at little or no cost
to the public while licensing other data they created with independent
entities. Government information becomes a unique section of the
electronic marketplace with specific requirements for both those who
license data from it and those who license data to it. At this
interactive forum, sponsored by National Federation of Abstracting and
Information Services (NFAIS) and by FLICC, key decision makers from
federal agencies and the private sector will discuss:
* using government data appropriately
* addressing intellectual property concerns
* negotiating licenses for and to government information.
