We are open to the public by appointment to use our materials on site
only.  They must call ahead so we can determine if we have any unique
resources that might help them.  We encourage them to use our online
catalog to see if we have items matching their needs.  We also tell them
our library is not configured for casual browsing.  Our collection is
pretty narrow in scope so we don't have many members of the general public
visiting us.   Our building is pretty much off the beaten track so most
local people don't even know about us.  All people coming to our building
must sign in with security staff, be issued a "Visitor's" badge, and then
escorted by whomever they are visiting.  No one is allowed in the building
to just walk around.  When the library is called, we must escort the
person to the library and back out of the building.
