A fun bit of fiction but a movie adaption has perhaps been rendered
redundant by all the road rage movies that have popped up over the past
few decades.

Proyas To Adapt Ellison Story
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
VARIETY reports Alex Proyas (The Crow) will direct a feature adaptation
of the Harlan Ellison story ALONG THE SCENIC ROUTE. Retitled DRIVE for
the big screen, the PARAMOUNT sci-fi film is set 20 years in the future,
in a world where people resolve their differences (...and get big TV
ratings at the same time...) with auto "dueling" along American's
abandoned highways. BULLETPROOF MONK scribes Cyrus Vorris and Ethan
Reiff will adapt Ellison's story.
