Telephone Pioneers of America
The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically
Handicapped is pleased to provide the enclosed copy of
__Telephone Pioneers of America Answering the Call,__a
special video presentation prepared in honor of the
organization's fortieth anniversary of service to the
talking-book repair program.
We produced this tribute to express appreciation on behalf
of those blind and physically handicapped people who benefit
from the labor of the Telephone Pioneers. We applaud the
Pioneers for saving the U.S. government more than $70
million during the four decades they have worked to repair
more than two million talking-book machines.
This video has been distributed to the Telephone Pioneer
Coordinators and workshop leaders.
We encourage you to share the video with persons in your
organization and administering agency. You may also
consider using it as a recruitment tool in your efforts to
attract new volunteers.
