Dear colleagues,
An article on EAD authority control was recently published in the v.17-4
issue of the _OCLC Systems & Services_ journal. It is written by Antonio M.
Calvo. Antonio is a Humanities/Music Librarian at University of the
Pacific, Stockton, California. He developed an XML DTD (called Nomen DTD)
based on the MARC21 format. Nomen DTD provides a record structure for
encoding biographical data such as authorized name, variant names, and
biographical details of a person in EAD. His article also discussed the
possibility of creating an authority file for EAD data encoding and linking.
